Fertilising a Linum perenne 'Album'
To ensure the vigorous vitality of this elegant perennial, proper fertilization is key. It benefits from an application of a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth appears. For optimal health and flowering, a second application can be made after the first flush of blooms has passed, usually around mid-summer.
Spread the fertilizer evenly around the base of the plant, taking care not to let the granules come in direct contact with the foliage or stems, as this may cause burn. Water the area thoroughly after applying to help dissolve the fertilizer and encourage it to reach the root zone. Regular feeding will support its bushy spreading growth habit and enhance its display of delicate white blooms throughout the flowering season.
